Having grown up around pianos, I developed a keen interest in tuning and repairing pianos at a very early age. I have been a member of the Piano Tuners’ Association since 1981 and always endeavour to offer my clients a personal and professional service. My parents ran a music business in North West London, and I joined it when I left school. I became more interested in the tuning and repair of pianos and to college part time to study it. With help from the staff there as well as my experience in the family business, I learnt the basics of the trade.Building on skills
I later worked for Broadwoods of London, which retains its long-standing Royal Warrant. At the time of Prince Philip and the Queen Elizabeth’s Silver Wedding, in 1972, the Palace required a Broadwood grand in the State Rooms to be tuned for the occasion.
